Hey-O!
It was a fun and busy weekend in Savannah at Superstar Comic Con! it was a great time, selling my art, and talking about my comics and meeting some pretty awesome folks. I had a couple of fun commissions, and even a little time to make some fan art.
The first sale of the show was a very fun sketchbook page commission. This guy has a sketchbook he has been having various artists (some much better that I) fill with food related sketches. I’ve decided to go with one of my original characters, enjoying a coffee and a fly:
Next up, I had a fun little sketch of Blacksad someone had me draw in his book.
The biggest commission of the show was an 8 x 10 color drawing of Gir and a 1973 duster.
I managed to snap a few progress pictures for you as well.

In honor of the show’s special guest, Sean Astin, I also made this the morning of the second day.
I’ve been wanting to play around with some corrugated cardboard and this seemed like a fun opportunity.
I was hoping to sneak away from my booth and give it to him, but I got busy with some sales instead. So maybe next time.
Something I like to do at some of these conventions is to gift some fan art prints to some of the various celebrities. They were all lovely people, but James Arnold Taylor (the voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Clone Wars cartoon) was so tickled, that he asked ME for a selfie! And he insisted that I take a photo of him with it. He was a darling.
All in all, it was a great show, and I look forward to coming back to the Savannah Convention center for Savannah Comic Con in July. I promise the newsletter will get back into normal rhythm soon, however, I got one more show this coming weekend in Atlanta where I’ll be tabling for at least a day at Furry Weekend Atlanta.
In the meantime, feel back travel mug with some Joe and I’ll catch you next time.
